How Taunton Brewhouse Reaches their Audiences

The largest theatre and arts centre in Taunton, Somerset, Taunton Brewhouse showcases work that inspires, surprises and entertains, whilst also delivering creative projects that enrich, reflect and unite their community.

Glide have worked with Taunton Brewhouse for the last three years, helping them get in front of their target audiences using print marketing.

We caught up with their Marketing Manager, Hannah Harrison, to hear about their strategic approach to their goals.

Glide: How has the season started for Taunton Brewhouse?

Hannah Harrison: Our spring season has started brilliantly, with a packed programme of events from comedy, drama, and music to film and family entertainment.

With such a varied programme, we take a thoughtful approach to marketing to ensure we reach the right audiences.

We work closely with visiting artists and companies to understand their productions, which in turn helps us to identify key audiences and to reach them.

"Print remains an important way for us to connect with audiences who prefer something tangible"

Our strategy combines digital channels such as our website and social media with traditional methods including print advertisements, press releases, and distribution.

While digital is great for promoting a number of events, print remains an important way for us to connect with audiences who prefer something tangible, and we're committed to keeping that balance.

"For us, print marketing is all about visibility and impact."

Glide: What do you look for with print marketing in terms of effectiveness and how does Glide help with this?

HH: For us, print marketing is all about visibility and impact. Having high-quality materials available at key locations across Somerset and the South West ensures that our campaigns reach a wide audience and make a strong impression.

It's important for us to target the right places where our community is likely to engage.

Glide plays a vital role in this, not only by recommending the best locations but also by providing regular reports that keep us updated on the effectiveness of each campaign.

Glide: What challenges do you come across in marketing the theatre and all of the events you have?

HH: In addition to our live performances, we run an independent cinema, art gallery, and theatre cafe, as well as hosting community classes and workshops - giving us plenty to promote and a broad audience to reach.

With so much happening, ensuring each event gets the right attention can be demanding, but our dedicated team works hard to balance these priorities and connect with our community in various ways.

"Glide understand exactly what we need as an arts organisation and the best locations to target."

Glide: What makes Glide your preferred supplier with your print campaigns?

HH: We've been working with Glide for a few years now, and their service has always been excellent.

We really value their expertise in supporting businesses across the arts, culture, and tourism sectors - they understand exactly what we need as an arts organisation and the best locations to target.

Their knowledge of the local area is invaluable, and they're always willing to offer helpful recommendations for campaigns based on our specific goals.
