This month saw the welcome return of The Cotswolds’ premier public art trail, as a drove of beautifully decorated hare statues scamper their way around the region promoting the inspired skills of the local artists who have adorned them, as well as encouraging visitors to explore the stunning Cotswolds AONB and its fabulous attractions.
And we are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring one of those beautiful hares!
The botanically inspired Mad Marché Hare, decorated for the Cotswolds AONB Hare Trail by Malmesbury-based Nicola Hope, depicts a number of Cotswold producers, makers, growers and farmers. “As a horticulturalist and an artist”, says Nicola, “it is very important to me to promote local producers, growers, farmers, artists and craftspeople as well as highlighting the beauty of the Cotswolds and all of its bounty.”
In October, all the hares will be auctioned off to raise money for two great projects: Caring for the Cotswolds and Glorious Cotswold Grasslands, both run by the Cotswolds Conservation Board.
The beautiful Mad Marché Hare is featured on the cover of this great guide to the Hare trail, which is available to order (at no cost) for your visitor information display, here.
Mad Marché Hare has just kicked off its tour of the Cotswolds at Broadway Tower and will be hopping on to these other great venues over the next few months. They’re only around until September, so don’t wait too long!
