We’ve been working with the award winning WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre in Gloucestershire since 2009. When helping them plan their campaign we worked closely together to fully understand what they wanted to achieve. We chat to Melanie Jones, WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre’s Marketing Manager about their leaflet campaign and centre’s ambitious growth goals.
Tell us a bit about where you are today and your direction for the future.
Melanie Jones: WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre welcomes in excess of 250,000 people per year (and growing!) and the leaflet distribution service provided by Glide enables us to reach a wider audience and forms a vital part of our marketing mix. By 2020, through support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the centre and grounds will be enhanced to provide many new exhibits and vast array of unique visitor experiences and Glide’s support will be invaluable in reaching new audiences.
How has working with Glide Media helped you to achieve your growth goals?
MJ: Since working with Glide we have exceeded our visitor targets year on year, grown our membership base and reached new visitors from fringe counties.
The whole process has been smooth and transparent and with the introduction of real-time analytics we are able monitor and track our campaigns. This is invaluable when tracking ROI and measuring effectiveness against a large number of marketing tools and tactics.
Are there any particular features of the Glide Media Service that have stood out for you?
MJ: The online reporting is a great USP, coupled with account management from a local independent company. Every request or query is dealt with promptly and professionally. The central warehouse is large enough to take all of our annual stock in one delivery and flexible enough to take our seasonal stock as and when.
