We were exceptionally pleased to continue our support for regional tourism organisations by sponsoring the 2018 Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Forum, held on Friday 9 March 2018 at Gloucestershire College, Forest of Dean Campus in Coleford.
The conference boasted a unique line up of speakers, covering topics ranging from trends and forecasts, product and tourism development and investment, to future technology changes and skills for the future. There was also an expert panel following the main presentations plus networking, questions and lively discussions throughout the day.
With over 100 tourism businesses from across the area in attendance, there was a vibrant mix of industry specialists and advisers. sharing and supporting local businesses in developing their knowledge and expertise.
Mark Harper MP led the opening address, emphasising the important role that the tourism industry plays in the wider economy and highlighted a number of current industry initiatives. He was followed by Sharon Orell, Head of Research, VisitEngland, Gerwyn Evans, Head of Tourism Development, VisitWales and David Owen, CEO GFirst LEP.
