In March, Coleford Town Council officially opened their new Tourist Information Centre that will serve the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean area. Staffed entirely by volunteers, the centre will open a minimum of 6 days a week and expects to help around 8,500 visitors each year to plan fantastic days out.
Although funded by the Town Council, this exciting project has been delivered through close working with the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association, Forest of Dean District Council and the Coleford Area Partnership.
Lead Councillor for the project is Nick Penny, Deputy Mayor of Coleford who told us “The council are working extremely hard to market Coleford and what it has to offer to Tourists visiting our region. Last year we produced a new visitor guide for the town which included details of local accommodation providers, places to visit and details of our heritage. This year we have focused our efforts on the opening of the fully staffed Tourist Information Centre and increasing our town centre events programme.
We have been delighted to work with Glide Media on this project, through the provision of serviced leaflet racks and also some region specific branding to raise the profile of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. The service we have received from the team has always been first class”.
